My "Flying Field" – Panorama
A panorama of the place where I once flew my models, on 12th September 2005 at noon. (Compass at the bottom right.)
It starts with 54° horizontal field-of-view (like a 35mm wide-angle lens on a 36mm camera) and it can be zoomed in to 15° (135mm telephoto) or zoomed out to 84° (20mm ultra wide-angle, the lens the pictures have been shot with).
A few hints:
- If viewing the panorama doesn't work, probably your browser is a too old version.
- The picture, that is the detail of the whole panorama picture, should be 1120 pixels wide and 480 pixels tall (21:9 aspect ratio), so the browser window has to be made at least that big.
- The picture should automatically start panning (about 8 degrees per second). Clicking into the picture with the left mouse button stops panning.
- Browsers are different, some will pan smoothly, others jerky.
- Clicking into the picture with the left mouse button and dragging with the button held down will pan the picture as well. Dragging left, right, up, or down pans the view to the respective direction.
- You may pan the picture as well using the left, right, down, and up arrow keys on the keyboard. Any hit pans by a certain angle, permanently pressing pans permanently. If it doesn't work, try clicking the picture with the left mouse button to activate the panning function of the keys.
- You may zoom into the picture or out of it. Use the mouse wheel or the + key (zoom in) and the - key (zoom out) of the decimal keypad on the right side of the keyboard.
- Full-screen mode is entered by clicking on the frame symbol in the picture's upper left corner. Again clicking on the symbol or hitting the Esc key on the keyboard returns to normal display mode.
-
You should adjust brightness and contrast of your display so that all 15
levels of grey in the greyscale bar below are visible while the leftmost
field is black and the rightmost field is white.
